MTN Nigeria has confirmed a service disruption affecting some customers in parts of Lagos, Oyo, Rivers and Delta states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
The company said customers in the affected areas may experience temporary difficulty accessing its services while work continues to restore normal connectivity.
At the time of publication, MTN had not publicly given a detailed explanation for the disruption or announced a specific time for full restoration.
The outage affects users of MTN FibreX, the company’s fixed broadband service for homes and businesses.
According to MTN Nigeria, FibreX provides high-speed unlimited internet designed for activities including remote work, video streaming, online gaming and other data-heavy services.
MTN also operates a nationwide coverage platform where customers can check FibreX availability and report areas experiencing weak service or network outages. The company’s official coverage locator includes FibreX alongside its 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G networks.
The disruption could affect households and businesses that rely on stable broadband connections for work, online payments, communication and other digital services.
MTN describes its wider broadband service as suitable for homes and offices, including online meetings, file transfers, streaming and other internet-based activities.
Customers experiencing broadband problems can also report faults through MTN’s official support channels.
MTN had not announced any compensation for affected FibreX customers at the time of publication.
Trivane News will update this report if MTN provides further information on the cause of the outage or confirms that service has been fully restored.
