Please include:
- The article URL
- What is wrong
- What is correct
- A reliable source if you have one
Our process
- Our editors review the claim independently
- We check against reliable sources
- If confirmed, we correct the article
- We add a correction note at the bottom stating what changed and when
Types of changes
Correction – a factual error is fixed (name, date, figure, quote, location)
Clarification – we add context to improve understanding
Update – new verified information is added as a story develops
Editor’s Note – we explain a significant editorial decision
AI-assisted journalism
We may use AI for research, transcription, translation and grammar checks. All editorial decisions, verification and publication are made by human editors. No article is published by AI alone. Errors in AI-assisted content are corrected under this policy.
Independence
Corrections are made on evidence alone. We are not influenced by governments, advertisers, political parties or campaigners.
Removal of content
We do not remove articles on request. Content is only removed if required by law, ordered by a court, or to protect personal safety. Where content is removed, we will publish a notice explaining why.
