Jamie Foxx will star in Deadlocked, an action thriller scheduled to begin filming in Melbourne in early October.

Foxx plays a former Marine whose jury service turns dangerous when a high-profile trial becomes a hostage crisis.
Variety Australia reported on 2 October that filming would begin the following week. Nikhil Bhat is directing the Amazon MGM Studios production, with Sasha Calle, KiKi Layne and Luke Hemsworth among the cast. au.variety.com
The announcements describe a planned shoot, rather than confirming that principal photography has already started.
Local Jobs and Business Spending
According to the Victorian government’s announcement, the production is expected to generate more than A$36 million for the state’s economy.
Its forecast includes more than 855 jobs for local cast and crew, alongside opportunities for 1,000 extras. Around 370 Victorian businesses are expected to work with the production, including suppliers specialising in stunts, safety and film armoury.

Support for the Production
VicScreen secured the film through the Victorian Screen Incentive. The production is also accessing Australia’s federal Location Offset.
