All 10 remaining contestants in Big Brother Naija Season 11 have secured places in the finale after Barry used his Ultimate Veto Power to grant immunity to the entire house.
The decision came on Monday evening after Keivo won the Week Nine Head of House challenge. Shortly afterwards, Big Brother gathered the contestants in the lounge and instructed Barry to select a red envelope.
Inside the envelope, Barry was offered a decisive choice: grant immunity to every remaining housemate or leave them all without protection. He chose to save everyone, ending the week’s nomination process and sending the full group into the final stage of the competition.
The 10 finalists are Aikou, Barry, Bluethopia, Flora, Keivo, Oyin, Ricky, Sheba, Temi Nkem and Tram.
Barry’s veto changes the contest
Barry became the season’s first confirmed finalist after winning the Week Eight Head of House challenge. The victory also gave him the Ultimate Veto Power, which allowed him to influence nominations across two weeks.
He first used the power to save Aikou from possible eviction. His latest decision went further by protecting every contestant still in the house.
An official Africa Magic video described the move as one that sent the house directly into the finale.
Keivo’s Head of House victory gives him the usual privileges attached to the position, but no contestant will face eviction this week following Barry’s decision.
Triple eviction reduced the field
The development followed Sunday’s triple eviction, in which Yusuf, Bells and Chimsom Chuka left the competition.
According to Channels Television, Yusuf received 6.77 per cent of the public vote, Bells received 6.57 per cent and Chimsom Chuka recorded 6.90 per cent. Tram survived with 7.56 per cent.
Their departures reduced the field to the 10 contestants who will now compete in the final phase.
Season 11 began on July 26 with 24 housemates. Twelve contestants have been evicted, while Neche left voluntarily and Nomy was disqualified.
The winner is expected to receive a ₦160 million grand-prize package. The season is scheduled to conclude on October 4. TheCable reported that this is the first time in the programme’s history that every finalist has been determined at the beginning of Week Nine.
