Lamiley Wins Third GMB@20 Star Performer Award After Powerful Cultural Tribute

Lamiley, the Greater Accra Region representative in Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2026, has secured her third Star Performer award of the season following her portrayal of Naa Dode Akaabi.

She received the latest weekly honour after the competition’s Week Eight programme, broadcast on Sunday, 13 September 2026.

The contestants performed under the theme, “Heroes and Heroines of Our Land”, celebrating people whose leadership and contributions have influenced Ghanaian history and society.

A tribute to Naa Dode Akaabi

Lamiley used her performance to tell the story of Naa Dode Akaabi, who is remembered in Ga tradition as the first female ruler of the Ga State.

Her presentation focused on Naa Dode Akaabi’s courage, leadership and influence at a time when positions of authority were largely occupied by men.

The performance also highlighted the important roles African women have played in leadership, cultural preservation and community development, even when their contributions have not received sufficient recognition.

TV3 Ghana published highlights from the presentation, while 3News reported on the contestants’ performances during the Week Eight programme.

Adesa Productions and official programme sponsor Infinix Ghana subsequently congratulated Lamiley on winning the Star Performer award.

Third Star Performer honour

The latest recognition is Lamiley’s third Star Performer award during the 2026 competition.

She received her first award during the opening live show on 9 August. TV3 Ghana confirmed that she had taken the Star Performer title for the night.

Lamiley secured the honour again on 23 August following a theatrical presentation titled “I Am Corn”, which explored the cultural and culinary importance of corn in the Greater Accra Region. She also received the Best Costume award during that programme.

TV3 Ghana announced her second Star Performer award after the broadcast.

Her third award strengthens her record in the competition, but it does not make her the overall winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2026. The competition remains ongoing.

Two contestants evicted

Week Eight also resulted in the eviction of Ohenewaa, representing the Eastern Region, and Kiba, representing the Savannah Region.

Ohenewaa celebrated Theodosia Salome Okoh, the designer of Ghana’s national flag. Kiba presented the story of Yagbonwura Mahama, a prominent traditional leader.

Their departure reduced the number of contestants remaining in the competition to 10.

Promoting African history through entertainment

Ghana’s Most Beautiful combines entertainment with cultural education by giving contestants a platform to represent the histories, traditions and aspirations of Ghana’s regions.

The programme is also relevant to Africans living in the United Kingdom and across the diaspora. Its performances give younger generations abroad an accessible connection to African history, traditional leadership and cultural identity.

The 20th-anniversary season began with 16 regional representatives. According to the official programme launch report, the grand finale is scheduled for 18 October 2026 at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.

The eventual winner will receive GH₵200,000, a car, a postgraduate scholarship, gold jewellery and an opportunity to represent Ghana at the Miss Earth pageant.

Lamiley remains in contention for the overall GMB@20 crown as the competition approaches its final stages.
